Near neighbours, the IC’s of GB, Belgium and Luxembourg provided the opposition in this high quality and entertaining fixture played on the lawns of Carrickmines Tennis Club. The tie included two local derbies (Ireland v GB; Belgium v Luxembourg) where superb, competitive tennis was on show for the spectators. In true IC style, friendships were cemented at the various social functions which included a taste of real Irish hospitality at the Merry Ploughboys pub. Traditional Irish music and dancing enthralled the visiting players who enthusiastically sang & clapped along all evening. Fitzwilliam Tennis Club hosted a wonderful function to round off a memorable few days of tennis, and crowned the IC of GB champions of this anniversary fixture.
